hello, I have some general Drupal questions.

1) Are Drupal modules only available on this site or do they exist elsewhere?

2) Are all Drupal modules Free or do people sell modules?

3) will installation profiles allow me to copy my drupal site and install as template?

i am a newbie and do not completely understand what is possible and what is not. I have a project in which i have event management system. So, i want to store user specific data on database and retrieve a lists (of say events), but i dont know
what kind of support to interact with database does drupal support. Please help and give me a lead so that i can search and learn corresponding topics.

we're evaluating Drupal for building a website, and I can't figure out a thing.

We need to make a batch application that can insert non-interactively content into our Drupal instance. I mean, I receive some info about contents, and I need to insert these contents into Drupal using a PHP script.

Are there some APIs to do this? Do I need to insert directly into the database? Some best practices and-or guides?

I am interested in using drupal to handle my backend CMS. I was wondering if drupal would be the right choice for me. Right now, I use wordpress as a make-shift CMS, and I program my pages in Coldfusion and they access the WP database to display on my site (I do not use the wordpress themes as my site)

Is this something that is possible in Drupal? Basically, I need drupals CMS and Taxonomy features. But is it worth me programming my site around drupals DB or are there other options?

I have a potential piece of work. Off the bat, they're a windows shop. They'll install whatever I need in order to run Drupal, but is it feasable? I've found articles, but nothing much newer than D4.7

I'm not looking for how necessarily- I'm looking for if this is a reasonable way. I'd love to get the work.

I don't need to deal with 60% more headaches off the bat cause of their infrastructure though...

Hi guys. I know you probably get sick of hearing this from other users, but I am completely new to Drupal. The main reason that I am wanting to get started on learning Drupal is because their are many clients that want some sort of cms for their website and unfortunately I have been losing them, because I have had nothing to offer.

I have heard that Drupal has an amazing community and being that I am just a web designer who knows only Xhtml and CSS I think having a community that I can get advice/help from would be the best direction for me to go in.
