The site would host academic papers, video and podcasts and would need to be searchable by variables such as author, category, date etc.
We would also have a closed members only section where people can upload and organise content.
Would drupal be overkill for this and would we be better off with a bespoke PHP/MySQL solution or another CMS. In development time how big a project would this be - we're a small independent trust with limited funds.
Finally how easy is it to integrate a CSS based page layout/design into Drupal ?
I am paying someone to convert my static HTML site to a Drupal site while at the same time teaching me the basics of customizing Drupal themes
The person teaching me has only used Drupal version 5.x and plans to convert my present site using this version. Is there any disadvantage to this or should I look for someone who will handle the conversion using the most current stable version?
My client has a custom-built ASP.NET e-commerce website. She is migrating to Drupal but wants to keep her existing e-commerce/shopping cart apps. Here are my questions:
1. What are the best options to integrate Drupal with her existing ASP.NET e-commerce platform?
2. What are the integration challenges?
I read about the Services module, but would like to hear from someone who has direct experience with this type of integration.
