Is Drupal a viable solution for my website? Please review What is Drupal before posting.

MultiSites & Shared DB (again)

After a search, I've read through about a dozen entries around the forums .. and ended up more confused than informed. So I thought I'd document what I'm after, and with luck, something can come of this post that a) helps me, and b) helps others who are after this specific instance of Drupal.

My aim is to create three sites, using a standard www.domain as the core site (which end up being a t-shirt and gamer shop), and having two subdomains under it, which will be pwned.domain (our community site, with news, reviews, forums, guild/clan tools, LAN booking service, etc), and admin.domain which strangly enough, will be a place for the admins on either of the two sites to be able to discuss things in privacy away from the userbase.

Each site will have its own content, but will share userlogin details across the board, so when someone creates an account on www.domain or pwned.domain, the same base questions will apply (and be used in the sites).

integrate newsletter for paid subscribers

Hi all

Been using Joomla for a while to get a large website project started, which should have a fairly large userbase.. but i have had to scrap joomla due to its lack of plugins/approach towards integration with paid subscriptions.

Does Drupal allow me to have users who sign up to the site to opt to become a paid member (recurring billing) , which will let them have access to other sections of the site that others can't reach, and also recieve a weekly newsletter? I dont mind paying for these add-ons, but just wondered how easily integrated it all is?

Blog/Album solution.

Hi Guys,

Im currently investigating a solution for creating a blogging site, also including a photo album solution. Ive been looking a drupal pretty closely as the open source nature is very nice. However id like some opinions on my requirements.

The site would allow people to sign up and create their own blog, in a pretty standard sense.

The site would also allow the users to also create a photo gallery, which by default is private and cannot be browsed by other users.

Can I name the urls of each individual page?

I'm moving from a nomal static website to a CMS. However, my site is already heavily linked by other sites and I do not want to change the urls of the invidual pages.

Is it possible to name the path of each page in Drupal manually?

Is drupal for me?

Hi, i have to install a CMS and i don't know which..
s.o. told me drupal can fix my problems
i gave a look and found it very good, but i don't know if it's the right product for me.

i must manage a website, http://www.medialawservices.de/ made with a proprietary CMS and the company wants to switch to an OS CMS

i need to manage the newsletter and an archive, with search-module (for title and contents) and to deal with a ssl page..

Changing Root Directory

I am wanting to install drupal in my root directory without the sub-directory /drupal..
