I'm new to drupal and I'm totally confused by all the versions. On the Drupal front page I see references to a bunch of different versions.
I tried using 4.7 beta 2 but then figured out that none of the modules I need work with it. I know now that some modules aren't ready for the latest versions...
Is it hard for a noob like me to upgrade to 4.7 later if I use 4.6.5 now? Should I go with 4.6.5 or should I use an older version still?
I was a bit confused.. This Drupal is only for administation.... not for the users... ie administrated by the admin???
Like wise In shopping cart system we have admin panel where the admin can add/edit/delete the products (categories/su categories) and site user can see the products and go for shop..
How is the situation now? I briefly tested with 4.6 and found that
I could use Korean for username but not sure what character is allowed
for username.
I would like to switch my PHP-Fusion based site (www.cruisejournals.com) to Drupal. I have over 1500 members, and thousands of posts in the database. I'm wondering how transferrable all this information is, and what the process is to start the transfer.
I know this is a basic question, but I just want to know what kind of task this is going to be for me.
I am in the process of creating a new site with either 4.6 or 4.7 . The site is mainly to display photos taken by my friends and myself. This is the first time that I am going to properly use the Taxonomy in Drupal but I am running into a problem.
I want to be able to categorise my image nodes by date. I.E If a photo was taken on 1st December 2005 it would be displayed in a breadcrumb as:
2005 > December > 1st
Clicking on the 1st will return all Photos taken on the 1st December 2005.
Clicking on the December would return all photos taken in December 2005.
Clicking the 2005 will return all photos taken in 2005.
To create the breadcrumb I can use Taxonomy context module.
The problem arises that the Vocabulary will be huge. For example:
Have anyone integrated Gallery2 as image gallery when writing articles in Tinymce?
I want to write articles in tinymce and pick photos from Gallery2 to put inline (and as the teaser picture) in articles. I want this to be fairly user friendly so that a user can either navigate through the gallery from tinymce, or that a user will find a picture in gallery and copy some link to paste in tinymce. Ideally, I would like to see the picture (or its frame only) inline with the text in tinymce.
