Advert Lover on Drupal?

I was wondering if my new website about advertising can be done on Drupal? It is basically a digg clone based on the pligg open source cms. Can voting promote nodes?

installing drupal into root directory...wipe out??

Hi,

Late night question here:

I want to install drupal into my root directory, so it becomes my new index page. However, there are a bunch of folders, files, etc. already in this area (although none conflict; i.e. each has different name).

Will the install wipe out everything already in the root directory?

Or can I simply install, combing the new data with the old?

Thanks!

Any Resources For Comparing Themes?

I'll start by saying that I love Drupal, and I deeply appreciate any and all work that is donated to the cause. The project is =amazing=, and I'm glad to see that it has gotten good "traction" in the "market".

I'm about to set up another Drupal site. On previous site, the biggest expenditure of time and frustration was in selecting and modifying themes. Most of the non-trivial themes have had "gotchas" that only showed up under certain conditions, and which required a theme change or "messing around" with HTML and/or CSS.

a site with a DB

Hi all, I'm wondering..

I've to do a site
- multilanguage
- with some roles
- with some requests to a MySql DB
- with some pages that read from a db

Is it possible with drupal? Or I can only use the page of drupal?
If I'd like to create my own php page, Can I put it in drupal as a node ?

Could you help me with some explanations or some links?
(especially about the multilanguage support)..

Thanks in advance.

Installing 5.0 or 4.7 ?

Hello to you all,
I am new to Drupal.
I would like to install a Drupal website to do content management with several other associations
here in France. I was wondering if you suggest me to wait now for Drupal 5 or can I install 4.7 and
then migrate easily to 5.0 ?

Thanks in advance,

Cotp

Drupal System Requirements

I am very much interested in using Drupal for personal use because of the great things I have heard about it, but before proceeding I noticed that my webhost does not meet one of the requirements of Drupal. PHP. I was informed that they are not going to upgrade anytime soon. I have signed up for a 1 year contract and determined to stay with them because of the service they offer and the immediate response of their tech-support.

My Webhosting Installed Version

PHP 4.3.11
MySQL Server 4.0.26
Apache 1.3.31

Drupal System Requirements 4.7.3
