Is there a sideblog module for Drupal?

Hi everyone, just wondering if there is a module out there that allows me to keep a sideblog of little quickie postings. I can already do this with a editing a block but it doesn't allow me to keep archives of past links.

Sub-Domain vs Multisites

I have a domain, abcd.com.
I want three subdomains. x.abcd.com;y.abcd.com;z.abcd.com.
I went and created these three subdomain using my control panel.
Now, Do I need to install Drupal three times in each of these sub-directories? (Y/N).
This is where I am getting struck. Ofcourse it is easy to create three new databases, and installing Drupal three times, but..I can clearly see something is not right here.
Let say I created three different databases , then how can a user logged into abcd.com access other three subdomains. ?

Capabilities & Guidance - Extreme Newbie Question

Hi all,

The job of building a site for a local community has fallen on me as someone with a reasonable general understanding of computers. Unfortunately I have a very basic understanding of website creation so.....

From looking around at the drupal.org site I'm pretty convinced it can do everything I need it to do, stuff like:

Register and manage users;
Manage content;
Manage mailing lists;
Manage events calendars etc etc

...which is cool.

Implementation question - multi site or single site?

We're investigating using Drupal on a large website for a non-profit. We've got drupal installed and running on our development server. We're wondering if we should set it up as a single site with multiple sections or as multiple sites. We have several users who would really benefit from the "front page" behaviors for their section but as far as I can tell, each site can only have one front page. I know we can use taxonomy to back our way into giving each of them a unique top page for their section, but it looks like this will make the workflow more complicated for them(and us).

Custom Checklists/Data Entry for Members?

Hello, I have been trying to do some research to figure out if Drupal will work for my web sites, and exactly what approach would be best to take for a module that I know I will have to create for it, if I do go with Drupal.

My main concern is about custom checklists my web site members will need. I will give you the scenario so hopefully it will paint a better overall picture in your head.

I will be creating a web site for a local park that I want to have a master template in checklist form that everyone can access to see what wildlife if known to be located at the park.

So here are the list of features I will need:

1) I would then like each member to be able to create their own copies (and give names/titles for them) of the checklist so that they can keep track of what wildlife they have personally seen.

2) I would also like each member to be able to select (for each checklist they make) whether they want it to be viewable by the public, other members only, or completely private. I would also like links to their checklists to be viewable on the member's profile page based upon these settings.

3) Each member should be able to add new species to their own selected checklist, but it will not affect any other checklists.
