I have idea to use drupal as a data management system for a group that collects scientific water quality data. I considered writing the entire thing as a module, but I think that I should reuse as much of the existing drupal modules as I can.
There was some mention of Drupal a contact relationship management platform. Is there any progress on this yet as some CRM functionality would be really usefull to me? Have trawled through the CVS modules but couldn't find anything relevant.
Can you give me some examples where Drupal is used as a Intranet for an internal company website verses a Forum, Weblog system. Currrently our existing intranet has weblinks to internal java server pages which are application tools for our Sales,Procurement,Warehouse and HR departments. Our existing intranet also contains content such as HR Employee Handbooks and policies as well as Sales Tools Documents. It appears that all of the example Drupal Sites I look at are used for Forum discussions, Weblogs etc. I would like to use Drupal for our intranet.
The idea is to insert xml into blog posts describing the content type (or node type ;-) ) of the blog post:
- book, film, movie review
- event description
in order to make the spidereable as such (semantic web bla bla).
