I'm a little confused about subdomains.

If a webhost says that you get "15 subdomains", does that mean that you have up to 15 example.example.com addresses for free, or does that mean that they support that and you have to buy them?

I just don't totally understand them. Are they generally free? If a webhost comes with "unlimited subdomains", does that mean you get to create all the subdomains you want for free?

I think I finally "got" taxonomy. I had the a-ha moment a few hours ago, it felt great. I imagine many-to-many like a menu at a restaurant: One customer might order many food items, and conversely, one food item might we ordered by many different customers.

Now that I understand this, I'm not sure why I should set up a Taxonomy for my site. My site features news headlines, commontary and counterpoints as part of each node, and it's updated about three times a week.

Does drupal have something similar ?

I am trying to create content for my website. I select the create content function and then input content (title, body), but when I go down the page to select the category for the content, I am unable to select a category, since each window shows none. I am not sure how to correct this issue. thanks
