its soo annoying

I installed drupal 4.7 on my webhost yesterday and I am having a lot of fun tinkering with it. I haven't written PHP before but I am already tempted to learn how to write my own module or template for some functionality that I need.

So I just wanted to say 'Hi' and obviously also 'Thanks' for this neat software.

We're looking into migrating a web site from a Coldfusion system to Dupral and have a number of requirements, all of which I've managed to find the answers to apart from the question of Accessibility.

Does Drupal follow the Accessibility guidlines?

or maybe a better question would be

Is it possible to make Drupal produce pages that do follow Accessibility guidelines?

For years we have done like most newspapers do: Developed our own strange system in PHP with all its quirks, limitations and redundant development.

We need a new CMS to help us reinvent our newspaper on the internet - and was hoping to use an open source CMS as foundation. But we are a small organization and and need some help choosing the right one.

So please: Help us choose which CMS would make a great start for developing a newspaper CMS. If you have any experience or have tried anything similiar, please let us know what you did: System, modules, plugins? How difficult was it, is architecture right for a news site etc. etc.

We have been looking at Drupal, but we're not sure if it's the one.

This is a "wish list" for all the stuff we would like to have. Any good ideas?

CORE FUNCTIONALITY:

• Articles - the newspaper is released everyday at midnight
• Photos, video, multimedia galleries
• Sections - like any newspaper: domestic, international, arts, opinion etc.
• Archive - 40 years of newspaper articles and a vital and central search
• Special reports - provisional and topical sections
• Reuse of content in different sections and on different sites
• User registration - system has to handle paying subscribers as well as freebies
• "My newspaper" - every reader should his own place on the net with all of his comments, saved articles, newsletters, feeds, and subscription info

Drupal blogs are very good, but there are major assetts missing for a blog wherever its from!

Firstly!

Ive noticed that new users cannot really choose their custom skins? and also they have to make do with the admins header banner..., can the user not have their own skin and title banner?

Also ive seen that images cant be applied nor videos?

I think they are very much needed for a blog to be a blog..., i was going to provide blogging for my forum users, but it seems quite pointless if they cannot edit their title banner and add images and videos....,
