nodetype extend

i've added the function function story_load($node) { ... to story.module, so i can add values to node from my table. it works fine using node module, but when i switch to archive.module (selecting archive date from the calendar http://example/archive)- , it ignores it. do i miss something in the concept?

thanks in advance..

Trying to create a page without postings but with other content and all the blocks

OK this may be a bit hard to explain. Thank you for the help in advance.

I have Drupal 4.7 (official release). This site is for a private intranet. I have the intranet setup already. I want to create a link on my main page which brings my employees to another page that contains all the same blocks as the index page but without any of the postings. I actually want to create some static links in the body of this page. For example one of the pages I need to create is a list of schedules for employees.

Content filtering by group using tags

Hi, new drupal user and first post, not sure if it's the right place, or even how to word the subject line... anyhow:

I'm trying to set up a friends and family site and would like to have each user have control of their own groups (I'm thinking the Buddy List module) and control who can see any content they produce.

Examples of Drupal ecommerce sites?

Hi there, I'm a new drupal user and this is my first post.

I'm going to be converting my wordpress blog-like site into a more comprehensive website offering several layers of purchasing options (original artwork, prints, accessories, framed or unframed, etc.).

I'd like to integrate the 'buy it now' and 'add to cart' options for most pages and products on the new site.

If you have, or have set up, a similar website, could you post it so I could get some ideas of the layout I'm looking for?

wordpress integration for drupal?

This is more of a wish, but my world would be complete if there was a true integration of wordpress into drupal, just like the gallery module integrates Gallery2 and drupal.

Drupal does lots of things well, but wordpress is just more specifically suited for blogging than drupal (in my opinion, of course). Wordpress isn't trying to be drupal, it's just great for blogging, just like Gallery does what it does with a lot more features and usability than drupal. But drupal does everything else for managing communities better. Right now I have to use wordpress for all my blogging and aggregate the feeds into drupal nodes with aggregator2 to have a full community site with user blogs.

Anyway, I'm not looking for suggestions on how to make drupal a blogging solution--wordpress already does everything I need and is more end-user developed (widgets, for example) for blogging. And I'm not trying to start a thread on which is better, worpress or drupal. To me it doesn't make sense to compare them since they're each trying to do different things.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this same thought and how realistic it is to hope that someday there might be a wordpress module for drupal. What I'm trying to say is that it would make more sense in my mind for there to be a drupal module that integrates wordpress than to hope that 5 years down the road, drupal would have similarly advanced blogging capabilities. Just like I'm not holding my breath that gallery turns into community plumbing or wordpress suddenly has the capabilities of drupal.

module like yahoo answers.

Does anyone know of a Drupal module similar to Yahoo answers.
