I have no idea what I'm doing here....

Hi, I was just wondering.....

ya see, I have an idea, think it would work, even bought the space to host the site. The webspace came with a set of scripts called fantastico. okay, there's susposed to be a auction site, and well, alot of other scripts that would be very much useful. the auction script doesn't work, I really could use one, but well, I'll figure that out later I guess. But I would like to use something like Drupal. It's gonna be kind of like a membership site, and well, I need to have a directory of the members, along with alot of flexibility as to what the pages in that directory have on them.

Problem is....I can't even figure out just how I am susposed to get the information that is taken at registration back out in a readable format??? I'm trying to learn php, but then I notice that well, the databases aren't accessible through php, there's an error I guess....

okay, so, I do I get Drupal to spit out the info that is put into back out in a format I like??

As it is, I can't even get Drupal to spit out anything in a format I like....can I change the background colors, or anything.....

some help would be greatly appreciated....a miracle more than likely needed. I'm beginning to think I should have stuck with straight htm and forgot about using scripts to automate any of it....it would be up and running, although I admit, I'd be working 24/7 trying to keep it up to date...

Custom Comment Fields?

I am trying to set up Drupal for an internal client information portal. I was wondering if there were any modules or ways that i could go about modifying/adding comment fields? I would like to be able to have specific fields per page/company so that the information is easily entered (instead of having to type them everytime into the body of the comment).

Example... Different pages with a swimming pool company, a plumber, and a lawyer's office as the main content.

Module tab suggestion

Why doest the top tobbar of this site include "Modules" http://drupal.org/project/Modules . I find that url to be the one I go to most.

Multi Site and Files Upload question

Hello,

If we run multi sites from a single codebase, do we create the uploaded files directory in the website of the codebase or can we have the directory in the individual websites themselves?

I was thinking that if we have all the files directories in the codebase website, then when we reference attachments and images files, it will be a link to the codebase website instead of the site itself.

list of articles after selecting a navigation menu

Hello
I'v tried my best to find this out, but I didn't. I have many articles/storys that I want in one navigation menu, but I don't want them to be as child navigation menus. I want all of them to show up in the page when you click the navigation menu, and than from there you see the name of the articles/storys in the main page. Can you tell me how this can be done?
