Best setup for a Blog?

I am about to set up a blog site (for a single blogger) and was wondering what combination of modules I should use? I will have some pictures, but apart from that, only text. I would welcome any suggestions!

Getting ready to Promote my site

Hey everyone. I think I am almost ready to start promoting my site. I know it will be a long haul from here to get the member base I need to make it successful. If anyone would like to take a look and let me know what you think and share your thoughts and opinions, I would appreciate it.

I am sooooo grateful for all the help I received!!

CivicSpace and Google Adsense

It took me awhile to figure this one out until I figured out that I couldn't find any specfic CivicSpace help regarding this.

I took the easy way:

I signed into my Adsense account and got the code the the ads I wanted.

I went back to my site and went into "blocks"

Clicked "add block"

Choose a title of the block you want to show on your site.

Choose "Full HTML"

Paste code from adsense. I put in 3 codes.

PDF, Doc etc to HTML

is there any module that convert a PDF to HTML ( a node) ?
Please note that i dont want a node to PDF, I want a PDF to a node.

google is doing something like this so i was wondering if a user can upload a pdf and then it gets converted into a story ( a book with chapters etc would be asking too much?)

thanks

howto: user adds books that he can only edit or add nodes to it

hi:

i have been trying drupal books; i like the idea but i dont like that it is not restricted by user. Currently it seems to be restricted by role which is not good if you want a community to maintain them as in my case.

I want a user to create a book and then be able to add nodes to it but other users should not be able to add nodes or edit this book, only their own.

Online tutorial or course for Drupal?

I would like to get your professional opinions on some issues:

1. If there is a free online tutorial for Drupal, would it be something helpful for new users?
2. Would you be interested in taking an online course to get help with installing and using Drupal?
3. Which way(s) would you prefer:
a. Read the manual to learn how to use Drupal
b. Post questions in the forum (drupal.org) to get help
c. Read free tutorial (if available on any site)
d. Pay for an online course to get effective training

Thank you.
