i wanna creat a community (drupal 4.7) which has similar functions like myspace. which modules would u recommend? because there are a lot modules out there which do the same thing (or at least it sounds like it ;) )
I've got the latest OG installed and running fairly well. But I want to be able to restrict groups to the type of content they can create. Right now the Group Details menu that shows when you enter the group context allows creation of all content types, period. I don't want that. I only want them to be able to create a subset. Will I need to use Taxonomy to restrict that? Or can I administer the OG menu like other menus (doesn't seem to be the case).
I am looking to open a forum and it comes to my attention that I cannot see how many people have allready viewed a post.... Is this impossible with a drupal forum or is this a setting, or is there an extension for this ?
Because with any forum its always very handy to see how many people allready viewd your post... eventhough you may not have any reply yet.....
The powers that be, Management, have given me until the end of September to come up with an online community website that will allow the university's alumni to register and stay in contact with each other - something along the lines of Friends Reunited (http://www.friendsreunited.co.uk/) with a forum, private messaging, user searching and the ability for users to create and join their own groups.
I am going to be teaching a course in the near future on Javascript (for beginners/intermediate) and was wondering if anyone had a book they could recommend. Any suggestions would be valued.
