Hi there,
We are moving our community site from a proprietary system developed in 1999! using php3 and udpated too a new CMS. We've already started evaluting a lot of CMS's out there and did a first shot using phpfox, which is pretty limited. Now I came to the conclusion that Drupal might be what we are looking for, it seems to very flexible. It would be nice if somone of you comments on my requirements listed below:
List of requirements:
1. AJAX* components for ease and comfort of use and lightweightedness of browsing experience
2. Asynchronous Refreshing individual blocks and/or tabs (eg. for login, navigation or even time/even-based refreshes)
3. AJAX dropdowns / autocomplete
4. AJAX table /tree cf. http://opencomponentry.com:8080/tacos/ajax/TableExample.html
5. Chat (ofc AJAX :-) or Flash)
6. IM (optional)
7. Collaborative text editing (eg. book writing)
8. Validation, decent Captchas, Email Validation
9. Statistics about content growth and user activity
10. Fine granular permissions and user management
11. Pools, digg-like voting, Galleries, Flickr and Youtube integration
I know some of theses components/modules are in development. But as I am not involved and have never installed Drupal before, hence I cannot judge whether modules are ready for *almost* productional use (a few glitches are ok).
Questions:
- Are those things available or available very soon? Which are those where I might run into problems (immature, lacking functionality)?
