I would like to define a node that contains birthdays and anniversaries and then provide a block that lists upcoming events as reminders to send the card, make the call etc.

The problem you have with what looks like a simple requirement is that you have to deal with the December to January transition, i.e. January 5 comes AFTER December 21 but a list by date would sort the January dates before the December dates. I need a simple way around this for Drupal.

I have been doing a lot of thinking on this. I consider my self to be an above average web user. I can do xhtml and CSS. I can theme Drupal, Joomla, Zencart etc. I have a knack for being creative about putting different components together. I am a chemist and an educator. I want to be more involved.

Here are some thoughts.

1) How can the non-programmer be more involved in making drupal better and be listened to?

2) How can Drupal become sexier for the layman? What can we do as a community to help people better understand the power of Drupal.

We are a non-profit environmental organization based in Nanaimo, BC on Vancouver Island. We're looking for a Consultant to help us optimize the CiviCRM functions for our organization as well as to guide us in the process of migrating our current data from Access to CiviCRM.

I'm running a couple of Multisite -installations for both Drupal 4.6 and 4.7. (one installation including more than 50 sites and it works just fine)

However, I was wondering if there's any practical limits how many sites you can run on one codebase? (let's assume server power is no problem for the traffic)

How many sites you have on one codebase, let's hunt out the record...

I am just curious why Joomla seems to be so much more popular and is winning awards all the time. I have used both and find Drupal to be way more powerful and flexible. Joomla can be clunky and it seems every component costs money these days. I am just curious why this community at large believes Drupal doesn't have the masses.

does anyone know how to directly do this. like say i text the pic to the site and it posts?
