Migration from D7 to D8

Not sure if this is a good spot for this question, but here goes: 

We currently have a website on D7. I've copied the site down to my computer (using Acquia Dev Desktop) and also created a whole new D8 site to do a trial run of pushing content from the old site into it. 

I installed all modules, I navigated to the /upgrade url and entered the database information. (database host set to Localhost)

When I press next, I get an error:

Install Multiple Drupal Apps on One Bitnami Drupalstack (Drupal Snubbed!!!)

There is a situation that should be unacceptable to all drupal pros out there.  I am currently transitioning from my Ubuntu 16..04 LAMP Server to a Bitnami 7.59 Drupalstack (because I am tired of fiddling with email servers on a development server) :P . Only to discover that Bitnami does NOT provide instructions / FAQ on how to install multiple Drupal apps onto a single Bitnami Drupal stack...  However, they readily an instructional FAQ on how to add multiple Joomla Apps onto a single Bitnami Joomla stack...

WordPress to Drupal

I have been thinking about migrating my finance blog from WordPress to Drupal. But I also want to keep the same WordPress theme intact. Is there a workaround for this? Please let me know.

Core update

I have update require files & folders to Drupal core, not run update.php.

Is it require to run update.php ? If not then which types of issues I will face in future. please advice.

Mega Slider

Hi everyone, I have a problem with the Mega Slider module. indeed I have it among the modules available on my site. when I click on it, it shows me the list of different sliders. the problem is that i can not edit the pictures present on it. I have the impression that he is disabled.
