I could not find a How to convert from Drupal 6 to 7 rc3 page for non technical people so here is my experience so far.

Hi to all, this is my first question here, so I salute you all.

I have my comments for nodes are in a non-standard field. This was generated/set-up by some module in the past (don't ask me which one). So, my field for comments text/body is "Fields: comment_body" instead of the default "Comment: body".

I'm currently running a vBulletin powered site, with a Mediawiki database bridge for the wiki. You can see the site in operation http://www.gaminglove.net/

I've been growing increasingly frustrated with both of these platforms, and have tried to use a premium vBulletin wiki plugin to have the wiki be a much more integrated part of the site than it currently is.

That of course, proved to be a mess, with the import not functioning correctly, crucially, it killed every single essential template being used on the wiki, so for the moment, it's installed, but not being used.

I also own a vBulletin 4 powered site (including the "CMS"), but the vB 4 branch is a joke, the CMS is lacking crucial functionality that I want, and vB4 styling woes are relatively well known by people interested in forum software.

With the release of Drupal 7 looming, I want to look back into rebuilding the site. That, of course, comes with a few crucial caveats:

I need a good forum, average posts per day on the site are relatively low, but I need good admin controls. I'm not entirely convinced that AF in it's current implementation is a suitable alternative.

I installed l10n_client.module and started translating. Translations are saved locally, but how can I submit them? I can't see where to enable this option. If it is automatically enabled, how could I have confirmation that it had been sent to the servers?

Hi,

Under Drupal Book Block settings, I selected: "Show block only on book pages" so that just the active book is displayed in the menu navigation.

The problem is that the menu is only showing the list of pages within the active book, but not the name of the book in the menu. So instead of just:

* Page 1
* Page 2
* Page 3

the block should show

Bookname
* Page 1
* Page 2
* Page 3

I created my new content type and added some fields. Then I realized that the fields I created have the same parameters (default values, allowed values list, help text...) except for the label and machine readable name, of course.
Is there a smart way to multiply these fields? Like creating a custom field type to avoid clicking the same things many times?
Please advise.
