I know what Drupal can do (and I know a little about doing it!), and I use it to make some very standard content-based websites. Now, I'd like to use it to make something logically simpler, but I can't understand the correct approach. Maybe you can help me:
Imagine a simple front page. Header, central column, two sidebars.
In a sidebar I want a SIMPLE block with one header and a paragraph (3-4 lines).
Now I want a user to login and be able to edit the content of that simple block.
Nothing more.
The most popular HD FLV Player from Contus Support Interactive, which has been downloaded more than 100,000 times online till date, and embedded in more than 15,000 websites, will be now available for Drupal. It is very easy for the Drupal users now, to install the most user friendly and features rich web FLV Player in few moments. They can get the full fledged HD video Player for Drupal CMS with all the enhanced features from: http://www.hdflvplayer.net/drupal-web-video-player/
My background is with Dreamweaver creating html pages. I have just literally installed Drupal yesterday, so I am really, really new to this.
I have a client who needs a site which includes a public directory of around 150 people (offering a particular service) including name, location and phone number. Rather than showing a list of everyone, I need to make a searchable database so users can search by location etc.
