members only area

Hi,

so I want to create a site with a public area - with simple info like an 'about' page and a public news feed. And the I want members to be able to log in and access (and create) content.

My idea at the moment is simply to have different content types for each and only allow logged-in users/members to access the members-only types. The issue with this is content-type duplication (ie. I'd need two 'news' content-types - public and private).

I want to create my own block with just some links to certain pages of my website. how do I do this?

Setting up prefixed tables for multiple sites from one database.

How do I copy my existing tables to a new set of tables with a different prefix. I am trying to set up multiple sites for a single drupal installation and single database. I have read drupal documentation but not sure how to create the new tables. I thought I should have a .mysql script that I could edit with the new table prefix somewhere but can't locate it.

Emulate a file system

Hi,

I have created a content type which allows users to upload files. The content type has a taxonomy vocabulary, with nested terms attached to it. I am now trying to create a page which emulates a file system, with taxonomy terms representing the folders.Files uploaded with a certain term tagged to them should appear in that "folder".
