My last review of the new Drupal 7 was rather cursory and I merely looked at the new release from the point of view and distrust of a salt-coated seadog perusing a modern ocean liner. So that review might have been quite biased as it puts habit in competition with progress. Quite naturally habit will win all of the time. To me Drupal 6 had become a habit, and habits do not die easily.
But has my opinion changed since then? I decided to take a much closer look and the result was www.rotimiogunjobi.me.uk , a site that I constructed for my hobby. Sadly ,my verdict is still that Drupal 7 does not offer anything new in the way of experience for the user.
I'd like to get into Drupal module development, and I was wondering how I could go about this.
I'm very familiar with Java, and I understand object oriented concepts fairly well.
I also know my way around HTML and CSS (though I'm no CSS guru, who knows all the hacks that make things appear the same in all browsers).
I have a Drupal site running on D 5.7, if I'm not mistaken - a very old version in any case.
I plan to upgrade to D 7. There is NO need to upgrade the old scripts, themes, views etc., because I intend to rebuild things from scratch. But I do want my data to remain intact and to be re-usable in the new D 7 environment.
Is there a module that will allow a user to exit a site quickly by clicking a button that will also delete their browser history? I am building a site for a domestic violence shelter, and they need this feature in case an abuser walks in while a client is browsing our site. If it cannot delete the browser history, I at least need a link that will immediately send you back to your browser's homepage.
I have a the complete UI developed in Photoshop for a business directory website. I need someone to build a theme from the PSD files and also configure my site. The site will heavily utilize Views and taxonomy for the business directory functionality. Please respond with examples of sites you have developed within the last 6 months. Detailed design documents will be supplied during the interview process.
Thanks
