Drupal 7.x

I would like to add a span tag around the last menu items of both the main menu and a secondary menu. Can someone tell me how to do this? All of my search results seem to be for D6...

When a page is created, it has the

"Submitted by User on Fri, 04/01/2011 - 11:03"

is there anyway i can remove this from showing up on basic pages? It makes the page look like a article.
I tried looking into the theme settings, there is nothing there.

Im not sure if this is a validation issue or to do with CCK which isnt part of D7 but is part of some example code Im using anyhow; the error I getting is

I get this error after putting in my database info during the drupal 7 installation. Any clue what would cause this?

I couldnt find any other way to make a banner rotation easily, so I thought I could create a view and put it in a block region where I wanted the banners, then tell it to display as a slideshow.
