Drupal 7.x

First off, let me just say that I am extremely new when it comes to Drupal. I was wondering if someone could tell me if there is a way to group users based on the way they rate nodes, then recommend other content.

I checked all the other "lock-out" problems...nothing like this. I'm well into building my site. I upload views and ctools. I'm enabling the new modules when i notice many of my core modules have been disabled and my admin menu gone! From myadminphp I enable all core modules I think i need...no bueno. I enable All core modules and and disable all uploaded modules...still no bueno. I delete views and ctools.......mucho no bueno! Is there hope?!!!!!!

I'm somewhat new to Drupal and am trying to put together my first theme. It's a copy of the template that the the college I work for (Georgia State University) uses that is a proof-of-concept as we consider possibly moving the University to Drupal. I've run into a very specific need that I can't seem to figure out...so I thought I'd ask the community.

My challenge is as follows. I want to create an employee profile page (node/page) with 3 columns. In the left column would be a "left column" region with a standard menu block (primary menu module - easy). The middle column would contain the employee's name, bio, etc. that would be generated by fields in the content type (node) and put in place in the template (also easy). Then comes the challenge...in the right column I want to have a contact information "block", a "related pages" block, a "block" with a photo of the employee, and a "block" with a twitter widget featuring recent posts. I want all 4 of these to be styled differently and I want to be able to re-sort them if needed. I also would like the ability to move one of them to the left column below the menu if desired.

Trying to create a page override but it's not taking. The strange thing is it's working for a view I created. If you go to:

www.kaymerica.com/portfolio - this page is a view page which is using my page--portfolio.tpl.php override. My problem is, if I click on a piece of content there, it refuses to use the same page display.

eg. www.kaymerica.com/portfolio/a2zane

I'm setting up a multilanguage Drupal 7 website. Everything went well after installing Internationalization module but... whenever I try to translate a block content a message appears:

"The string blocks:block:6:body for textgroup blocks is not allowed for translation because of its text format."

If saved as plain text works but a block with plain text is pretty useless if you want to include a simple image for example. So how do I translate a block content with HTML?

I'm a beginner with Drupal 7. I used to work with wordpress but it seems that Drupal is the real deal now.

I would like to know how to progress efficiently ? Until now with wordpress phpbb and others stuff I have been using tutorials and forums. That was sometimes very long and erratic. A lot of time wasted.
That's why I 'm thinking on buying a book or a video lesson (if available) to progress more efficiently and to get strong basis and developpement procedures ideas.
