Please help newbie with Views modele upgrade

I am reposting this as a new topic, because what I need help with has changed from the original question:
***
I am trying to upgrade the Views module in a Drupal sit that's not developed by me. I also have only worked on one Drupal site, but need to do this one to help someone. I followed Shabana's instructions (from another post), and I got up to downloading Views version 6.x 3.0 (I just want to upgrade Views first before doing the big upgrade to Drupal 7).
I then extracted the files. I got into my site directory and saw that Views is located under sites/all/modules/contrib/views.
But I also saw a "views_php" folder.

Since I am really new to this and I am no programmer, I just need help with the following:
(1) Do I delete the "views" folder that's in the directory now, and then transfer the new one to replace it?
(2) What do I do with the "views_php" directory? Do I leave it as is? Or delete it?
(3) The last instruction in the post said "Now, type www.yoursite.com/update.php, and it's done" - sorry to sound stupid but type in where? Do you mean type this into the browser's http:// field like it is a path to a website? Or where? And what does this do? Please note that since I have not yet updated the module, I also have not yet logged into the site again to see where admin/build/modules is but I presume that won't be difficult to find.

Importing into issue tracker

Hi,

I am looking at replacing our current issue tracking system with drupal. I have installed drupal, patched it up and got the issues module and dependencies installed.

To get our existing issues in is there any bulk entry screen? Or some sort of import for issues? I have looked through some of the import modules but they seem to be for pages, users, etc. Searching for import issues doesn't help - just finds issues people have with importing content.

Any direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

File upload widget : localization not available

I can't find anyway to localize the upload file widget for node file attachments.
It shows a "Chose File" button and a text "No file chosen".
These strings do not exist in Drupal code, and of course the search in translation interface fails.

Is it an old time bug, or do I miss something?

Cannot delete nodes from content menu, uninstall modules, and all modules with multistep forms fail

I am unable to use any aspect of my site with multi-step forms.

Deleting nodes from 'admin/content/node/' does not work, uninstalling (not disabling) modules does not work either.

Also, any modules providing multi step forms fail, in that once I reach the submit button for the form I am taken back to the beginning page of the form with a message that I did not select any options on that forms first page.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Grouped checkboxes with subheadings

Hello all,

I think I remember seeing this done somewhere but now I can't find it. I want to present a set of checkboxes and group the options under sub-headings. For simplicity, lets say that they are countries and I want to group them by continent. I want to see this:

How to shorten default body field length in teaser?

I'm surprised I can't find an answer to this...

We have multiple content types on our Drupal 6 website. Each content types is using the default body field. I'd like to give this default body view a teaser length. This way, when the content type shows up in a view (displayed as a node), the body field will only display XXX number of characters.

Is this possible?
