I know the short answer is however long it takes, i.e. until its ready and has no bugs. But, as I only joined the drupal community a couple of months ago, I was wondering how long on average the beta stage for a major new release like this takes? How long for instance did it take for 5 to go from Beta to full release?
In terms of planning new sites, it would be helpful to have some sense of whether a full release might likely be out in a month or two or not for another six months. Thanks.
I am trying to install drupal and I am not getting on very well! I have downloaded the core files, unzipped and placed in my htdocs folder. When I point to my domain I get the Drupal instal page. When I fill in the data base configuration details I get the following error:
I have a v5.2 setup with theese i18n variables defined. I can translate those and have no problems.
I want to set up a v6.x-dev package to test some stuff and currently puzzled. I want to translate the site name, site slogan, site mission, site footer. I used to do it like this:
I just wanted to write a post hear thanking the development team for their excellent work thus far with Drupal 6. I've been working with the beta version for only a few days and I've had a fun time making themes and remaking a website that my friends and I use to keep in touch.
With Drupal 6 I've finally been able to make all the changes I've wanted to make for years. I'm looking forward to seeing more modules adopt the tpl.php methodology so that I can customize those modules to look exactly the way I want.
I have installed Drupal, gotten the FCK editor installed with no problem, and enabled the editor to upload files in the advanced editor. However, I have a problem with uploaded images.
When editing a story, I can write a sentence, press return, upload and insert a picture, and then post, but the image never shows up on the front side of the site. Not even for the admin...
I found this to be quite odd and thought it would be an image display permission of some sort, but I can't it find anywhere, in any of the installed image or fckeditor modules.
