Drupal 6.x

In the near future, installation profiles will be packaged with all of core, and whatever contributed projects they depend on. In designing exactly how this system will work, there are some unanswered questions that I'd like to get feedback from the community about. I've posted each one as a poll in the installation profile group (http://groups.drupal.org/distributions) so that people can both comment and vote on the various alternatives.

• Should the version strings for installation profiles include the exact version of core they contain?
• Should the file that controls packaging for installation profiles be called ".info" or ".pkg"? (Note: all the other polls and discussions are currently written to assume we'll use .info files for installation profiles).
• Should install profile maintainers have control over where contributed projects are included in the packaged tarball?
• Should maintainers be able to place files in arbitrary locations in the installation profile's directory tree?
• What's the best practice for where modules should be located inside an installation profile?

I'm currently testing out Drupal 6 Beta 3 in anticipation of the final release, but I'm having a bit of trouble with breadcrumbs for nodes.

In Drupal 4/5 if I have a menu structure (of pages):

About
+-- FAQs
+-- Donations
+-- Etc

Then when visiting FAQs/Donations/Etc I would get a breadcrumb trail of "Home > About".

Unfortunately with Drupal 6 this I just get a breadcrumb trail of "Home". Has the breadcrumbs work been changed in Drupal 6 or is this a bug?

I'm on hostgator (a shared server), and set up the cron through cPanel, although I can't get cron to run without a:

"We were unable to use the MySQLi database because the MySQLi extension for PHP is not installed."

My command line is: cd /home/username/public_html/ ; php cron.php

Is MySQLi something I need to enable with my host, or through Drupal, or is it even really needed? Everything else seems to be working fine except for cron.

We are looking for another full or part time Drupal developer, PHP programmer.

I need to add some data to the node object when loaded, but that data is based off a CCK field value, which is not present at the load op, should I just use another op or do I need to manually load this information?

I work for a for-profit private College. We are looking at having our main website redesigned and for the CMS I think Drupal would be one of the better options.

Let me tell you a little bit about the structure of our site. We have 7 US campuses and 4 Canadian campuses. Each campus has one or more "Schools" within it. This is a somewhat generic term that just groups together programs. An example of a program is a bachelor degree in computer science with a minor in networking. Programs are made up of classes.

So we have -
Class -> program -> school -> campus.

Now the tricky parts come into play in that classes can belong to multiple programs, programs belong to only one school, and schools can belong to multiple campuses. For example comp sci 101 is part of a few bachelor and associate degree programs, those programs are part of the school of technology and those schools are located at say Atlanta, Orlando, and Montreal. For SEO purposes the site architecture will need to be built to avoid duplicate content.
