How to display the items in the category and subcategories, it surely can't be as complicated as it sounds.

Lets just say, for example, I had a category system set up like this:

-games
--ps3
--rpg
--sports
--xbox
--etc.
--wii
--etc.

Lets say I created a menu item that was http://www.blah.com/games
I want games to show everything within that structure--ps3, xbox, wii, rpg, and sports, etc...

index page + "install.php" won't load!

Hi, I'm very new to this, and after spending all day yesterday unable to upload joomla on my ftp, I spent all day and finally succeeded uploading everything (except the .htaccess file) onto my yahoo account.

Microsoft Word Document to Node? Ideas?

I would like a user to upload a Word document and have it programmatically turn into the body of an node. (I am, for the moment, ignoring images.) I can output something resembling decent HTML using wvWare with a custom xml filter. I'm still having trouble getting the spacing right (I have 3+ blank lines between the <p> and the start of a paragraph.) Possibly a drupal filter could be used to help eliminate this.) But I'm not sure how to procede from here.

install at root denies access to existing directories

After years of using drupal for various projects within sub directories (and having vdomains point to those), I finally decided to bite the bullet and redo my main site within drupal6. The problem is that when I installed I could no longer see my other directories. For instance I use MT for my blog and the directory for that is at myserver.com/blog/. I figured this is an htaccess issue so I added index.html as a directory index. That solved that problem.

Drupal 6.0 RC4 released

Release candidateWe are proud to present the fourth release candidate of Drupal 6.0. Building on the extensive testing of the third release candidate, we have discovered and fixed a number of critical issues, including errors during search indexing in languages with accented characters, the display of unpublished content in menus and book outlines, and localized menu data being saved into the database. Thanks to the cooperation between the jQuery and Drupal communities, we have also updated the version of jQuery to be included with Drupal 6 to the latest 1.2.3 release. I want to publicly thank jQuery's John Resig and his team for providing a new jQuery release in time for Drupal 6!

Although I had hoped that the third release candidate would be our last before Drupal 6's official release, our priority is to ensure that Drupal 6 is the fastest, most stable, and feature-filled version of Drupal yet. We've translated your experiences with the previous release candidates (including my own upgrade of drupal.hu) into a number of bug fixes, and will be watching closely for any other last-minute issues. I'm again hopeful that this will be the final release candidate before the official release of Drupal 6.0.

The first beta announcement provided a comprehensive list of high level improvements made since Drupal 5.x, so this announcement will concentrate on how you can help ensure that Drupal 6 is released as soon as possible and is as rock solid as the previous Drupal releases that you've grown to love!

Product with auto links to stories

Hello all, first of all great job on Drupal and Im very excited to see 6.0 become Final.

Now for our website steamfriends.com we want to rebuilt it in drupal but we would love to see something like the following:
What we need is a a plugin or module that can help us setup Games (so create lets say one game product) then when a newsposter posts news about lets say Half-Life2, the system automatically (when posted) shows relevant links to this taxonomy term and at the top the Information of the game itself including product overview, developer, engine, pictures etc.

So basically it's like a system where all news that is being posted can be connected to a product that someone once sets up for each specific product.

Example 2: Say we have Counter-Strike: Source and we put up a page with all info about that game and on the product page itself we wanna show apart from which developer it is, which engine it uses also the latest news that is posted for it and latest reviews, images etc.
But when we post news about Counter-Strike: Source we want it to be automatically connected to the full product info so whenever people wanna know something about Counter-Strike they can click on one simple link and get all info, latest news, downloads etc.

Is there already something like this and if not can somebody created it and if so, how much would it cost to get this done?
