Wordpress vs Drupal

Hi, not an experienced webmaster, so treat me gently...i just need one piece of advice.

I currently have a website on WordPress which is overwhelmed by spam, no matter what my technical people do with filters. They want me to move to Drupal which is apparently much better at blocking spam.

Can someone tell me if i am likely to see a marked difference or will i just be wasting my money?

Cheers,

Rob

Add new language packagings to Drupal 6

How to install a new language package to Drupal 6?

I have installed Drupal 6.0 with the default English version. Now I need to add multi languages to Drupal. After extracted a Drupal 6 translation package, for example, Dutch translation, I see Drupal 6 translations are put into a different package structure from Drupal 5. For Drupal 6 there are so many separated .po files under the different directories and sub-directories.

I don't know how to import these .po file at once. Is there any document detailing how to add a new translation package into Drupal 6?

Change language links into icons

Hey everyone,

I am new to Drupal but it seems really straight forward in a lot of stuff.
I am trying to change the language links for multilingual sites to icons instead of text links. For in the language block (I think it is block-locale)

I tried looking it up but I cannot really find anything, this seems to be the closest that I can get: http://drupal.org/node/149738

Can somebody help me with this (small) problem?

Thanks a lot!

Wouter

Starting Over, i.e., wipe and re-install

If I want to re-initialize my installation to make it like it was when I first installed it, can I simply drop the database and re-run the installation?

5.x to 6.x Conversion Program for l( link statments

I read here http://drupal.org/node/114774#url that there is a conversion program to convert 5.x l( statements to 6.x format. That program appears to be here: http://drupal.org/files/issues/replace.php_.txt

Does anyone know how to actually use this program? Or, is there better one available somewhere so I don't have to manually change all of my l( and url( statments?

Thanks!

I want register_globals off with IIS and IXwebhosting

A classic case of the good, bad and ugly. (following the order of the subject line)

I have trouble installing drupal 5 or 6 on a windows server with IXwebhosting because the damn register globals are on. I asked the live help people twice to help me but they can't fix it. And the ticket desk hasn't responded yet and it's been 20 hours. I figured I'd ask someone here before I call them.
