Drupal 6.x

Hello, so I just started a new position for maintaining and update a website that was created via Drupal. My issue is, the home page is not showing up in the content server all I see is blank page when I go to the editing screen. I researched and know it be a RAM issue so I have some questions.

Do I need to download Drupal to this computer and do I need the CKeditor to be able to edit the html code for the site?

While upgrading from 6.29 to 6.30, a friend mistakenly placed the core modules in /sites/all/modules. He ran UPDATE.php and all seemed well. Earlier this week he upgraded to 6.31, this time placing the core modules in their correct location. Now, no matter what he did, the site wouldn't budge from 6.30.

I asked him to delete the 6.30 core files in /sites/all/modules but now the site is down with an error message:

I have an older D6 site. I'm trying to trim up the database size. One table that's rather large is the node_comment_statistics. I have both comments and statistics disabled on my site. I've "uninstalled" all modules from the uninstall screen. It's been this way for years. Yet for every node created I also get an entry in this table.

Is that normal? Is there any way to prevent this? Working with D6 is no fun.

My current employer has asked me to add a feature to their current website which will allow the IT technicians to log in, and set their current availability status. Which would then be shown on a block on the front page for example.

I am quite new to drupal and I am wondering if their is a module that does something like this?

I have the last Openpublish version for D6 6.30. Theres no new update of Openpublish for D6, but I see a Out of Date warning on report.
Theres anyway to remove this warning?
