Strange caracters in RSS feeds

A feeds that I follow on my website delivers the latest news on their 4 forums, but I only need the news from one of these forums.
Since I can't filter in Drupal, this is what I do: I use RSSOwl to get all the feeds. There I created an action that filters all the feeds from that particular forum ans copy these feeds to a specific page in my website. That works.
Now comes the problem:
In RSSOwl, the text is well formated, whithout strange caracters. When the feed arrives in my website, the text is well formatted in the title of the feed, but not in the body.

Drupal doesn't find MySQL

Hi,

I've just downloaded Drupal 7.7 as we thought it was time to start moving onto that. Two hours later and we're no further.

We have a dev server which runs OSX Server (leopard) which we've used for about 2 years with Drupal 6 with no problems.

When trying to install Drupal 7 it always fails to find MySQL and insists that we only have SQL Light available. We've trying various settings in the settings.php file but the install.php seems to ingore them.

We did manage to install a version of 7 a couple of months ago so have no idea why now it's not working.

Multi-Site setup with one servind as subdomain.

Okay, I am over my head on developing a new website. I currently have two sub-directories with my Drupal sites in them. One is a main site and one as a subdomain careers site. The current site is a flash site at the root level of my hosting.

Have you used the Boost Module on MediaLayer?

Hello,
I am planning to host my drupal 7.0 site at medialayer.com. I also intend to use the boost module which supports only apache completely and other servers partially. MediaLayer uses LightSpeed as its server. Has anyone successfuly installed this module at medialayer?

Thanks In Advance,
Siddharth

Ridiculous filespace usage for MySQL in D7?

A very small D7 site I have takes 71Mb of online space for its database but when I export it with phpMyAdmin it is only 3Mb size uncompressed on my local machine. In contrast my largest D6 site is 12Mb locally and 18Mb online. 50% increase I can accept for indices etc, but a 2400% increase is really too much.
