Installing Drupal

Hi everyone!

I had installed Drupal (v. 7.0) for my website but wanted to start fresh & install the 7.7 version. I cleaned it all, deleted the files and remove the installation from Fantastico DeLuxe (which automatically installs Drupal from my hosting services). But then, when I try to create a new installation of Drupal, it just doesn't work.

Here are the two ways I have tried:

1. Through Fantastico DeLuxe:
"Install Drupal (2/3)
The installation can not be completed:
- You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.
Click on the browser's Back button to fix reported errors."

2. Directly from the configuration page from my website address (in the "Set up database" section):
"In order for Drupal to work, and to continue with the installation process, you must resolve all issues reported below. For more help with configuring your database server, see the installation handbook. If you are unsure what any of this means you should probably contact your hosting provider. Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'admin'@'localhost' (using password: YES).
Is the database server running?
Does the database exist, and have you entered the correct database name?

Few days ago, I downloaded the version 7.6 of drupal,then,i have been trying to install it on my ubuntu server 10.10.But i can not install it.All i have done is to 'dpkg -i /$path/drupal7_7.6-1_all.deb',then with the dbconfig module i suceeded with the building of database.As there is no GUI or WEB Browser in ubuntu server,I access the server with http://serverIP/drupal from a client to complete the install.But in the step 5 'install profile' , it shows page not found in the Browser of my client.when i press 'F5' to refresh the page,it

I'm getting this error when trying to install drupal on godaddy.

I originally posted this on the 'post installation' forum, but after no responses, decided it might draw a response here.

I am currently using Drupal 6.22 on a shared server. The hosting company decided to move to new hardware and the move has been a disaster for the users and tech support.

I have a multisite installation that is currently working on their old servers at a4skyhawk.org and how long they will be able to point to that server is a question nobody can answer. With the move to the new server there has been some corruption in unknown files on my installation and I am trying to figure out the problems.

My question is this:

How do I access a site other than the default installation when using 123.45.567.89/~abcde since I do not yet have the domain pointed to the new hardware?

I want to install Drupal 6.22.
I have copy all contents into the root map of my site.

When I go to my site I can choose a language and than it goes on with the installation.
The requirements are ok.

Than drupal will set up a database.

When I type my databasename and user with password I will get the following message:

Failed to connect to your MySQL database server. MySQL reports the following message: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. .

Hello all -

I've just installed 7.7 on a Fatcow hosted site using their software SimpleScripts. I think that I've configured the permissions for Contact and Private Messaging correctly, but when trying to send a PM (by clicking on Send this User a Private mesage), I'm directed to this page:

which returns what I guess is the 404 error:

Page not found
The requested page could not be found.
