Installing Drupal

I know how to add a node to the Navigation, but how to add arbitrary links ?

I get the following error when clicking content filter.

warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /disk1/www/htdocs/drupal/modules/system.module on line 108.

I installed and made sure all my php directives are set properly. I see the the admin section and can turn on moduels and such. However, I do not see anywhere how to access the modules. Where do I add content. It appears that I have no way to add or access the modules.

are there any kind of database update from rc to 4.1.0? I just want to be sure before apply the update

It seems that there is a problem in the format of the download TAR files.

I am able to use them fine at home, but on my win2k machine running winzip, I get the following error:

"Error reading header after processing 0 entries."

I haven't had this problem in the past. Is anyone else having this trouble, or is it a user configuration error on my end?

I'm still working on my Mailhandler issue in Linux, but I have a different problem with my Windows installation:

W2K/Apache with Drupal 4.1 and mailhandler. Using a port of WGET for windows (in a batch file) to run cron.php via the windows scheduler. Everything works fine, except some messages 'lose' the first sentence or so of a submission. Occasionally a submission appears with blank body, and the teaser has n/a in it. Any idea what might be casing this?
