Installing Drupal

Drupal adds a slash before quotes and other special characters. Magic quotes are off.

I use drupal 4.3.1 and PHP version 4.2.2

Magic quotes are turned of in conf.php with these lines

ini_set("magic_quotes_gpc", "0");
ini_set("magic_quotes_runtime", "0");

Any suggestions on how I may solve this?

i'm look for a way to insert html-source code into a new story. couldn't find this in any docs.
this means, the tags should be displayed, eg. the bold tag and not the bold text included in it.

I want to edit the confirmation email drupal send the username and password when someone registers. I edited the user.module and i deleted the part I did not want. It did not seem to be working. Still drupal send the same email including the part i deleted.
How can I change the email?

Hi, I just install Drupal and love it, but I have this extra / that appears after my domain name for example: http://foobar.net//?q=user which results in any form being submitted to http:///?q=user Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks.

At my Drupal site i`m posting reviews(weblinks) and creating a path-alias with a number of current post (only those post which are necessary to me).
Can i create a permalink with url of post`s path-alias (and can i show this permalink near node-links or near post`s title)?
