Installing Drupal

hi

has anybody solved the internal server error 500 problem which accurs when trying to install drupal on windows (using phpdev as server, with php, mysql configured and upto date)?

I know its not the server cos i create sites using mamboserver and wordpress and they work without any error.

i just want to try drupal to see if its any good and play around with it for a bit.

I have the LDAP integration module installed under 4.6.1 and Auth works fine.
It looks like the code is supposed to get the email address from the LDAP server... but it doesn't (at least for me). The "Reader" can get in and see the attributes... I'm confused.

I've got other questions but they can wait for now.

i have drupal4.6
scientific Linux = rhel3 = redhat enterprise 3
and just upgraded to php4.3.11-8 (which i finaly found)

before upgrading i had the problem, that i got the bad errormessage when i searched for content
"warning: Compilation failed: characters with values > 255 are not yet supported in classes at offset 52 in /var/www/html/drupal/modules/search.module on line 258."

this message do not show up anymore thanks a lot !!!!!

I'm cutting and pasting a pay pal link into a story to link to the pay pal shopping cart.

If you click on the search button it takes you to the pay pal page instead of to search

for example on the following page:

http://rpejournal.org/transportation/

the serach function in the header works, but the search function in the right navbar doesn't

i have just installed the mass mailer for my site. i went through the installation and everything appears to be fine, but when i go to the settings, where you select the engine to use, the drop down list is blank. did i do something wrong here? if so, where should i check for my errors?

or is this anything that anyone else has had a problem with

I cannot get a simple mult-site setup working.

I have Drupal 4.6.0 installed to /home/~myuser/public_html/research/drupal. Under that path I have ./sites/mydomain.tld.~myuser.research.drupal.altsite/settings.php.
