All about Actionfeed and Apostrophes

(For all of the alliteration fans, note the title...)

I have setup actionfeed and it works great except when a mailing list has html AND apostrophes in it.

After an apostrophe - it just omits the rest of the message...

Observe:

Here is a post where I went and edited it to make up the missing text...

Firefox CSS Import and IE/Opera Log-In Problems

Hello All,

I think I could get hooked on Drupal. I downloaded it last night and was logged in as the administrator on my local machine within half hour. I'm having a couple of problems, however.

1) I've tried all the default themes, and none of the style sheets are loading for Firefox (1.0). They load in IE (6.0.28) and Opera (7.10) just fine. I saved the source of a page to a static file, and that also worked fine in Firefox--if I removed the DTD (but I could leave the xmlns attribute in html tag untouched). I also tried putting the styles inline on the static page, and that almost displays correctly. That's obviously not a solution, only a test. The style sheets simply are not importing for Firefox with the correct DTD. I've searched around a little bit to try and find a solution, but no luck yet. Hopefully it's a simple problem where someone can say, "Do this..."

2) Log-in works just fine in Firefox, but not in IE or Opera. Fortunately I was using Firefox when I did the initial log-in, or I'd might still be trying to log in for the first time.

This morning, when I decided to log in using IE (because the skin works for that), I thought I'd simply forgotten my password. From last night, I was still logged in as administrator on Firefox, and I didn't want to log out there, thinking I might be able to set a new password as admin, or something. I don't have a mailserver on my test machine, however, so that didn't seem like an immediate option.

Cannot access Admin area (solved)

[Just documenting this in the hope it helps someone in future.]

I moved my Drupal base folder, from example.com/blah to example.com. After editing the settings.php file for the new path, the site worked okay, and I could login as administrator; but I couldn't access any pages in the admin area. That is, I knew I was logged in, because I could view my user data, but all site administrative pages were Page Not Found.

smtp mail not working; non-apache host; php.ini file not accessible; help!

hello -

i just installed civicspace 0.8.3 yesterday (cannot tell which version of drupal it is). i am having mail/user registration problems due to the mail issue.

i used the drupal smtp tricks - created an includes/class.smtp.inc file, and changed sites/default/settings.php, but here's the issue: i cannot find a php.ini file to alter, and continue to get this error:

Warning: mail(): "sendmail_from" not set in php.ini or custom "From:" header missing in C:\Sites\...\civic\modules\user.module on line 374.

Survey Module: Access Denied

I Installed the Survey and Forms modules, and as administrator created a survey and tested it several times. I have changed the Access Control to "Submit Survey" Under administartion, but the module still only allows the administrator to Submit Surveys. If I turn "Maintain Surveys" on under access control the anonymous users can create new surveys, but they still cannot participate by SUbmitting the survey.

Any Ideas?

Hello, I'm new to Drupal but have successfully installed it to the point where I have it working nicely with local security. But after attempting install LDAP I've run into quite a few problems - most of which I've gotten resolved via browsing these forums. You all rock - thanks for the help!
