So 3.0 is important because that is what we'll use for the d7 version. I wanted to post a meta issue to keep track of issues that are needed to be completed before we can get it to beta. If anyone want's to help out on these issues that would be great.

Everything here has been completed. It would be nice if someone could test the next dev version before I go ahead and put out a beta. There is still some work to do, mostly code cleanup and documentation, but I believe the api pieces are done.
