Explain difference with built-in view node operations

Problem/Motivation

I was updating my site, but it seemed like VBO was not installed. After soms digging it turns out that Views (in core) now offers 'Node operations bulk form'.
My question is, what does the VBO module provide exactly, compared to core Views?
This -for me- is not quite clear on the project page. The desciption there seems to describe core Views behaviour ...

Unsure about which category to place this, might be all of them. So sorry for marking it a bug (if this is incorrect)

Update project page to make clear the difference between core views bulk and (the different versions of) this module.
