It would be useful to support code tags as well as [prettify] tags. This would allow it to work it numerous existing sites that already use code and other tools suck as markdown.

code tags not properly setup with a pre can be transformed and class names can be properly applied.

If you are up for this feature I should be able to quickly write it as I basically already have the code.
