To whom it may concern: I'm a new maintainer, of both chart and charts. What is above ("... expire April 2015 ...") is indeed correct, and still mentioned on the chart project page. However in the meantime a few things are happening. Checkout these links for more details:

"Migrating" from chart to charts is one of the options being considered. However before 'i' will fully support that decision/direction, there are a few charts issues that need to be resolved first, such as #2384833: HELP needed to match content of RC1 with ambiguous HEAD. Anyone using this module interested in helping / contributing to the chart / charts modules?
