Keeps the permissions table usable while you scroll it: the role names stay at the top and the horizontal scrollbar stays at the bottom of the screen.
On a site with many roles and modules, the permissions table is wider than the screen and hundreds of rows tall. Its own horizontal scrollbar sits under the last row, so reaching a column on the right means scrolling all the way down first, and once you scroll down the role names are gone. Permissions Table fixes both. Install and enable it; there is nothing to set up.
What it does
- Role names stay visible: the header row with the role names stays fixed at the top while you scroll down, and slides sideways with the table so every name stays over its column.
- Scrollbar always in reach: a horizontal scrollbar fixed to the bottom of the screen. Drag it, or click anywhere on it to jump. It shows only when the table is wider than the screen, and gets out of the way when you reach the "Save permissions" button.
- Readable columns: role columns and the permission-name column get a sensible minimum width, so long role names no longer wrap into narrow, hard-to-read headers.
- Visible on every system: it draws its own scrollbar, because macOS and other systems hide native scrollbars until you touch them.
Where
- People » Permissions (
/admin/people/permissions) - The permissions page for a single role and for a single module
- The Manage permissions tab of content types, vocabularies and other bundles
It does nothing on any other page.
Why it matters for government and regulated sites
Agency sites often have many roles (editors, approvers, program offices) and access reviews mean reading the permissions table carefully. Keeping the role names and the scrollbar in view makes those reviews faster and lowers the chance of ticking the wrong box for the wrong role.
Similar projects
Permissions Table only changes how the table scrolls, so it works alongside modules that filter or reorganise permissions.
Requirements
Drupal 9, 10, 11 or 12. No other modules, no settings. Works with the classic admin toolbar and with the Navigation sidebar.

More Modules
- Block List: Lists every block on the site by the module that provides it, core included, with a plain-English description of each block and every place it is used.
- Drupal Cleanup: Finds and safely removes the data a Drupal site leaves behind, with backups, dry runs and records-retention controls for government sites.
- Module Cleanup: Lists uninstalled or deleted modules with leftover transient data and allows the admin to delete any leftover data. A fix for the "Module 'module_name' has an entry in the system.schema key/value storage" error.
- NIST for Gov: Reports that check a Drupal site against NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 controls, starting with API keys, passwords and tokens stored in plain text.
- Recipe Filter: Adds a "Recipe Type" sidebar menu to the Project Browser Recipes page, the same way Module Filter builds a sidebar for the Modules page.
- Sentinel: Warns people about danger where they are: FEMA public alerts, National Weather Service alerts and FEMA flood zones, with a warning when a flood alert hits a high-risk flood zone.
- Uninstall Impact: Shows what uninstalling a module deletes, before you do it.
