Drupal 8 distribution to provide a demonstration of some key multilingual features in this Drupal version. Showcases Drupal 8 core's multilingual functionality within a site scenario similar to a real world setup.

Use this distribution to explore the new multilingual features or showcase the capabilities to the community, customers and peers. The distribution also serves as an example site for the Drupal 8 Multilingual Websites book.

Take a test run on simplytest.me!

Check out our step by step handout walking through the features and further content including a video recording of a presentation of this demo at http://www.drupal8multilingual.org/workshop

Note that this demo uses content translated with Google Translate, so the accuracy of translations is far from perfect.

Disclaimer: This multilingual demo is not dependent on the demo framework installation profile created by Acquia. We did use some of the Demo Framework website topic, content, imagery, roles, and structure (to the extent supported by Drupal 8 core) for this demo distribution. We believe this approach provides familiarity and consistency across the demo platforms. The Demo Framework uses a well proven "story" to demonstrate commonly used elements on a website that most people across the world can relate to. Travel (as a site theme) has some of the best imagery and colorful copy for a very engaging demo. Second, the Demo Framework is still not available for Drupal 8. Most features of the Demo Framework are not available in this demo.
