Logged in user count changes to user being viewed count

I have this strange issue where the badges display correctly on the Main Menu tabs for both Private Messages and friends requests (User Relationships.)

However, if I visit another member's profile page the count for my Private Messages changes to display the count of his new Private Messages on the Main Menu tab. It displays nothing if the viewed user has no message.

When I return to my profile, it changes again and correctly displays the right number of messages waiting for me. Friends' requests, however, are fine and display correctly, no matter where I go.

Any pointer on this?

My Main Menu is Superfish and I use Panel for the display of a member's profile. I also use Profile2.
