My site is configured with mailchimp field attached to our user entity to give users the option to opt-in to our newsletter. There are however some users that have specific roles that I need to have added to separate list in my mailchimp account. I need this subscription to be mandatory and automated. I'm not sure how to go about doing this as the subscription is conditional based on the user role.

Moving to 7.x-4.x. We're going to be ending support for the 7.x-3.x branch due to the upcoming deprecation of the v2.0 MailChimp API and this is still relevant.

@Kcannick I would recommend implementing a hook form alter for this to make certain checkboxes visible and required based on the user's role. If you run into any issues with this please re-open the issue, thanks!
