HI,

I was stuck on the same error and the solution is quite simple, even if it is/was a bit scary. It turns out you need to download extra packages to make it work, at least I had to.

Basically, you can use composer to download those packages:

$ composer require drupal/geofield worked for me.

If you read the following issues, hopefully it'll help you as much as they did for me:
