Right now we are using the WYSIWYG module with the markItUp editor. When we insert pictues from the editor into blogs theres no way we can set the maximum dimensions of an image in blogs through admin. The images come out really big. Is Imagecache supported with blogs, content types or WYSIWYG ?

See insert.module if you want to manage standard control over embedded images. (or maybe image assist)
And stop using the default WYSIWYG img button, it doesn't help.

CSS tricks like

#content img {
  max-width:100%;
}

can sometimes help too.
