I have various presets setup and if they are only called by contrib modules like views then the images are correctly cached in the correctly folder if they did not already exist.
However, I now want to create my own theming of results so Im using:
theme('imagecache', 'taguser-48', $user_node->field_avatar[0]['filepath'], "No Image", "User Avatar")
and if the pre-cached image already exists then it is correctly output, however if the image does not exist in the folder then It is not created.
From reading the imagecache documentation, it states that if the image does not already exist then it will create it and populate the appropriate folder.
Am I missing something?

marcoka commentedFrom my informations, its creating it if its requested. For example if the user visits a node?

adam_c commentedYes thats what I also believed but the reason I noticed this is because I tried to view the nodes and the images were not being generated

Comment #5
marcoka commentedthe newest imagecache dev has rules integration, so you could make a rule "node is going to be viewed" create all presets.

fizk commentedPlease reopen if this is still an issue with ImageCache 6.x-2.0-rc1.
