Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
I wish for an additional right to create new forum topics (nodes), so certain users could be limited to entering comments only.

merlinofchaos CreditAttribution: merlinofchaos commentedI wish for that too. It turns out, comment.module's permissions are set up in a way that we can't actually control who can comment beyond the global "can post comments" permission. We tried a few tricks, but nothing worked.

Ideally I want to be able to create a forum where only few people could create threads, but the community could post comments in that posts.
Now I think it´s impossible. I´m right?
Thanks anyway for this great module!!!

salvis@SimonVlc: This issue is for D5, where everyone with post comments can post comments. This is unchanged from two years ago and it's unlikely to change anymore for D5.
So, the D5 version actually works that way, even though many see this as a missing feature.
I'm closing this issue as a non-request for D5. If you want to talk about D6, then please open a new issue.
