Working on #1079154: Change 'resolution''into 'dimensions'', we discovered that documentation and type hinting uses \Drupal\file\Entity\File where \Drupal\file\FileInterface would be better. #1079154: Change 'resolution''into 'dimensions'' changes this for the function file_validate_image_dimensions(). As soon as that issue has landed, this issue should change the other usages of it in that file.
