6.x-2.9 tag associated with 'Recommended' release is not on a branch

Problem/Motivation

The module docs name 6.x-2.9 as the 'Recommended' release. As far as I can tell, the git changeset tagged as 6.x-2.9 is a detached head, and not on the 6.x-2.x branch, as it seems it ought to be.

Proposed resolution

Perhaps one or more of the following could be in order:

1. Merge that detached head into 6.x-2.x.
2. Tag a subsequent changeset as 6.x-2.10 and update the docs to recommend the newer tagged release.
