Could we add support for the Inline Entity Form module? It's non-invasive and requires minimum integration.

Use asset_base_form() instead of the asset_wysiwysg_form().

Love it! Adding assets as entityreferences using inline entity form is great.

This patch works great- reviewed and tested.
