Can the user search function be made available to non-admin just wanting to search for users?
Also I see the module can search profile fields, how to a configure that to work?

I'll consider the request for a search only function but at the moment the module will allow the user to administrate the user if given access to it.

Profile fields are setup in admin/setup/advuser.
